Using the Produce From the Plot.

Thought id share some of the things i have been making using the produce form our plot. One of the best successes this year was the Broad Bean Hummus that i made time and time again for BBQ's and garden parties this summer I found the recipe on www.foodandthefabulous.com I first had a go with Sammie and we made this short video if you gain an exceess of broad bean i would deffo give it a try...

The website that we got the recipe is lovely and we were overwhelmed when Ishay Govender-Ypma the creator of the recipe left a lovely comment on our video.
I would definitely take the time to visit her site to check out her other recipes.

In addtion to the hummus I also pickled some of my produce for the first time this year and was really impressed with the tasty results. I even entered them in to our local show and won prizes.

The pickled onion recipe i made up myself using red and white onions and brown vinegar and pretty much added what i found in our cupboards including honey and cinium
and the Pickled courgette recipe was from
both recipes went down a treat and we are still adding them to salads and sandwiches... yummy..!!!

September Update
So sorry I haven't posted to my blog for a while i've been really busy working full time and been a mother. A lot has happened since i last posted at the allotment the first major thing was the fire.

It was devastating the boys were so upset. It was even in the local papers at the weekend but we didn't find out until midweek.
you can watch our fire video by following this link

We also attended our local show with some of our home grown produce from the plot and some home made crafts from myself and the boys. It was a great day and we won lots of prizes.

You can watch our Thornaby Show Video here

We also had an article in kitchen garden magazine published about our plot too, that I wrote myself which featured a lovely picture of sammy and our youtube Channel.

The plots finally coming along and were all working hard to recover from the fire. Were using paving slabs to break the plot up in to smaller beds and I think it's working really well.

If youd like to see more of how the plots looking at the moment you can watch our latest update here...

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. Would love it if you subscribed to our youtube channel.
Take Care
